Suppose,
Total Cows = C
Total Ducks = D
Given,
The Total heads of Cows and Ducks are = 60
Then we can say that => C + D = 60
=> C = 60 - D - (i)
Given,
The total number of legs of Cows and Ducks is = 180
Now, each cow has 4 legs, then the total logs of cows would be = 4C
and each duck has 2 legs, then the total legs of ducks would be = 2D
Then we can say that => 4C + 2D = 180 - (ii)
Putting C value from eq (i) to eq (ii)
=> 4(60-D) + 2D = 180
=> 240 - 4D + 2D = 180
=> 240 - 2D = 180
=> 2D = 60
=> D = 30
putting D value in eq (i)
=> C = 60 - D
=> C = 60 - 30 = 30
