Bharat, the country of historical values and sentiments overflowmg with cultures and re]jgions, changes with every mile, but is still known for preserving its rich cultural heritage. Moving towards global tourism, the ministry of ports, shipping and waterways recently created an experience for people that brought forth the historical, cultural and religious significance of our rivers. In January and February, the global tourism and cruise sector was abuzz with the news of the world’s longest river cruise MV Ganga Vilas. The cruise covered nearly 32,000 Km over 51 days, crossing 27 rivers systems across five states and two countries, via the Ganga-Brahmaputra river system. Starting from the heart of Uttar pradesh in Varanasi to Dibrugarh in Assam, it had several stops and visits to nearly 50 locations.
The Act East Policy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the focus on developing the national waterways made this historic voyage a reality. It was also a true demonstration of Atmanirbhar Bharat (self reliant India) with a domestically manufactured vessel, a fully Indian crew, Indian decor, Indian cuisine, Indian art and craft, and products being showcased. The vessel with a zero-discharge policy also used the Indian Oil Corporation manufactured green fuel with the Dolphin Deterrent Device.
ऐतिहासिक मूल्यों और संस्कृतियों और धर्मों से ओतप्रोत भावनाओं का देश भारत हर मील के साथ बदलता रहता है, लेकिन फिर भी अपनी समृद्ध सांस्कृतिक विरासत को संरक्षित करने के लिए जाना जाता है। वैश्विक पर्यटन की ओर बढ़ते हुए, बंदरगाह, जहाजरानी और जलमार्ग मंत्रालय ने हाल ही में लोगों के लिए एक ऐसा अनुभव तैयार किया है जो हमारी नदियों के ऐतिहासिक, सांस्कृतिक और धार्मिक महत्व को सामने लाता है। जनवरी और फरवरी में, वैश्विक पर्यटन और क्रूज क्षेत्र दुनिया के सबसे लंबे नदी क्रूज एमवी गंगा विलास की खबरों से गुलजार था। इस क्रूज ने गंगा-ब्रह्मपुत्र नदी प्रणाली के माध्यम से पांच राज्यों और दो देशों की 27 नदी प्रणालियों को पार करते हुए 51 दिनों में लगभग 32,000 किलोमीटर की दूरी तय की। उत्तर प्रदेश के हृदय स्थल वाराणसी से शुरू होकर असम के डिब्रूगढ़ तक, इसने कई पड़ावों पर रुककर लगभग 50 स्थानों की यात्रा की।
प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की एक्ट ईस्ट नीति और राष्ट्रीय जलमार्गों के विकास पर ध्यान केंद्रित करने से यह ऐतिहासिक यात्रा एक वास्तविकता बन गई। यह आत्मनिर्भर भारत का एक सच्चा प्रदर्शन भी था, जिसमें घरेलू स्तर पर निर्मित जहाज, पूरी तरह से भारतीय चालक दल, भारतीय सजावट, भारतीय व्यंजन, भारतीय कला और शिल्प तथा उत्पादों का प्रदर्शन किया गया। जीरो-डिस्चार्ज नीति वाले इस जहाज में डॉल्फिन डिटरेंट डिवाइस के साथ इंडियन ऑयल कॉर्पोरेशन द्वारा निर्मित हरित ईंधन का भी इस्तेमाल किया गया।
