Coagulation is a chemical treatment used in the water treatment process. It involves the addition of coagulants, such as aluminum sulfate (alum) or ferric chloride, to water to destabilize and aggregate suspended particles. This process helps to form larger particles called flocs, which can then be more easily removed during subsequent filtration and sedimentation steps.
