Eutrophication is the excessive growth of algae and aquatic plants due to high nutrient levels (mainly nitrogen and phosphorus). When these plants die and decompose, it leads to oxygen depletion in the water, harming aquatic life.
यूट्रोफिकेशन उच्च पोषक तत्वों (मुख्यतः नाइट्रोजन और फास्फोरस) के कारण शैवाल और जलीय पौधों की अत्यधिक वृद्धि को कहते हैं। जब ये पौधे मर जाते हैं और सड़ जाते हैं, तो पानी में ऑक्सीजन की कमी हो जाती है, जिससे जलीय जीवन को नुकसान पहुँचता है।
