The Sarkar Committee (1945) was set up to recommend the establishment of higher technical education institutions in India.
It proposed setting up four higher technical institutes in different regions of India, modeled after the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA to promote advanced technical education and research.

भारत में उच्च तकनीकी शिक्षा संस्थानों की स्थापना की सिफारिश करने के लिए सरकार समिति (1945) की स्थापना की गई थी।
इसने उन्नत तकनीकी शिक्षा और अनुसंधान को बढ़ावा देने के लिए मैसाचुसेट्स इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ टेक्नोलॉजी (MIT), यूएसए की तर्ज पर भारत के विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में चार उच्च तकनीकी संस्थान स्थापित करने का प्रस्ताव रखा।
