According to the UGC (University Grants Commission) Regulations 2018 on plagiarism, there are four levels of plagiarism:

Level 0: Similarity Index up to 10%
Level 1: Similarity Index from 10% to 40%
Level 2: Similarity Index from 40% to 60%
Level 3: Similarity Index above 60%
If a faculty member commits plagiarism at level 2 (with a similarity index from 40% to 60%) in the submission of a research publication, they will invite the penalty of denial of one annual increment as per the regulations.

साहित्यिक चोरी पर यूजीसी (विश्वविद्यालय अनुदान आयोग) विनियम 2018 के अनुसार, साहित्यिक चोरी के चार स्तर हैं:
